Here are the ‘12 dogs of Christmas’ who are on a mission to find loving homes over the festive period.

These adorable canine companions, available from Dogs Trust Leeds’ rehoming centre in York Road, range from playful pups to senior citizens – but all are wagging their tails in the hope of becoming part of a new family.

This month, they include Joby, a handsome one-year-old Crossbreed with huge potential.

Dogs Trust Leeds works closely with members of the public and wardens to rehome pups in need. So why not bring a bit of joy and warmth into your home this Christmas by taking one of these festive furballs home?

Two-year-old Great Dane Lenny is a gentle giant who'd prefer an adult-only and a calm environment. He'd need adopters who are around all the time initially to help him adjust. Lenny loves exploring in a private, enclosed garden and, although he will eventually enjoy dog walking friends, he settles best as the only dog at home. He's a clever, housetrained lad who enjoys playful moments with soft toys.
