Martin Terrier has emerged as a target of a number of Premier League clubs including Leeds United, according to 90min. Seven teams have already scouted the Rennes star in the past two weeks.

The winger joined the French club from Lyon in 2020 for €12 million and has since impressed in Brittany, finishing last season with the same amount of league goals as Kylian Mbappe (21) whilst also being named in the Team of the Year. Terrier has picked up where he left off this season and has already netted eight goals and picked up three assists in Ligue 1, as well as claiming three goals in the Europa League as they sit second in Group B.

The Frenchman’s exceptional form has finally earned him an international call-up ahead of the World Cup and success in Qatar could make it even more difficult for Rennes to hold onto their star man. The report claims Leeds United have joined Arsenal, Man Utd, Newcastle, Leicester, Wolves and Aston Villa all scouting him in the past couple of weeks, alongside teams in Germany and Italy.

The Whites previously contacted Rennes over the player’s availability in the summer following Raphinha’s departure to Barcelona, however no official bid was made and Terrier remained with the Ligue 1 side. It is believed that they will demand a club record fee in excess of £30m for the 25-year-old, which is unlikely to put off Jesse Marsch’s side or any of their rivals.

While the likes of Brenden Aaronson and Luis Sinisterra have impressed since their summer moves to Elland Road, Leeds have made it clear they are in need of a goalscorer and Terrier could arguably provide that threat that Raphinha was so successful at during his time in Yorkshire. Rodrigo is currently United’s top scorer with six goals, while Patrick Bamford is yet to get off the mark this season.
